MORE ABOUT ME
My first hand craft that I learned was sewing. I learned how to make a purse in the 1st grade out of shoulder pads. I had quite the imagination. I taght myself how to add on embelishments and buttons and fasteners. That same summer my mother decied to teach me to crochet. I caught on pretty quickly and got bored with making pot holders. So after mastering the one needle hook (crochet), my mother decieded that I was ready for two needles (knitting).
I was so excited. I couldn't wait to make a blanket, and I was only six. I had always made big plans for myself. My mother taught me to garter, knit and purl and before you know it I already had a scarf, patches for my blanket and then by the summer was over I also learned to do cables. All of this in one summer. Years went by and I would pick knitting or crochet something here and there, but not seriosly. Then when my mother went back to Romania, she brought back a goblen (Romanian needlepoint). I was excited to learn. I finished many needlepoint projects. By this time I was 16 years old. Then when I turned 19 I went to Romania and got married to my wonderfully patient man. And he saw that I really liked to needle point and bought me several needle point projects from Romania. As I finished serval projects I couldn't help but remember my crocheting and knitting skills. I decieded to embark on crocheting my first twin size afgahn. With much success I finished it while still living in Italy with my husband. In Europe any of these hobbies can get very expensive. So I waited till we came to the US to go on my full on obsession of yarn and craft projects. Now since I have been in the US, I have really devopled and advanced skill in crocheting and knitting. And I throughly enjoy the crafts. My next one on the list is spinning.
