Chicago's Art Institute is one my very favorite museums. Although probably best known for Grant Wood's "American Gothic," the museum has one of the world's best collections of modern art.
My design for this pillow is inspired by Piet Mondrian's Composition (No. 1) Gray- Red, 1935 from the museum's permanent collection. An eye-popping graphic in the original colors, the palette can easily be changed to suit your decor. This is a great first intarsia project with large color blocks and not too many ends left to weave. Includes my recipe for Cincinnati-style chili.
This pattern is also available in the instant download ebook, American Gift Knitting.
